【明報專訊】After a tiring day it is good to do something that you don't need to rack your brain for (傷腦筋), and doodling is the right choice!

◆The basics

To doodle, you need a pencil and a blank paper. First, you have to make a sketch (草圖).

To make it more attractive, you can use coloured pencils (顏色筆)to paint the picture (上色).

◆The trend

Doodling is a very relaxing activity as it doesn't require a lot of thinking like other hobbies such as chess and bridges. A new form of doodling, called zendoodle (禪繞畫), is now popular among doodling lovers because it is considered meditative and it helps people relieve stress and improve their concentration. To create a zendoodle art, divide a paper into a number of areas by drawing lines, then fill each area with a different repetitive pattern. (photo.2)

◆Did you know?

In the UK, celebrities donate their doodles for auction, and the proceeds (收益) will go to Epilepsy (癲癇症) Action, a charitable organisation which helps epilepsy patients. Famous Actors such as Eddie Redmayne, Eleanor Tomlinson and Sir Ian McKellen have taken part in previous auctions to help raise funds.

◆Check-in

Graffiti is also a form of doodling, but it is done on the wall. Although it is illegal to paint on walls in public areas or other privately owned buildings without authorisation, you can ask your parents to let you draw on the wall at home, or admire the art of graffiti artists near Hollywood Road, Graham Street and Aberdeen Street in Sheung Wan and Central.
