Yayoi Kusama (¯ó¶¡À±¥Í), now 95, is a world-renowned Japanese artist, famous for her polka dots, infinity mirrors and large-scale installations. Her hallucinations, which began in childhood, inspired her iconic dots and repetition.

Kusama grew up in an unsupportive family and had to overcome financial struggles. Still, she had her first solo exhibition at the age of 23. In 1977, she voluntarily checked herself into a psychiatric hospital, where she still lives while creating art.

Her works, including huge outdoor dotted pumpkins, are displayed worldwide. Her immersive exhibitions, like the Infinity Mirror Room, attract millions of visitors into her world of endless reflections. In Hong Kong, M+ Museum hosted her largest exhibition in Asia outside Japan in 2022.

Kusama has inspired countless people with her persistence. She once said, ''I never run out of ideas. I'll keep creating art until I die.''

¡½English highway¡Rthe comparative, the comparative

The pattern ''the comparative, the comparative'' is used to show a direct relationship between two things. It suggests that as the first thing changes, the second thing does as well.

E.g. The more you practise, the better

you get.
