【明報專訊】In the 1800s, a game called "Poon" was played in India (印度). Some British Army officers brought the game to England. It was introduced to guests of the Duke of Beaufort at his estate, which was called Badminton House (伯明頓山莊) in Gloucestershire (告羅士打郡), England. The game became popular there. That is the reason why the sport is called badminton.
