【明報專訊】The Longines Masters of Hong Kong (香港馬術大師賽) will be held between February 10 and 12 at the Asia-World Expo (亞洲博覽館). How much do you know about equestrian sports?
Big words
The three Olympic equestrian events are show jumping, dressage and eventing.
Show jumping (場地障礙賽) — Riders need to ride their horses to jump over a variety of fences and complete riding challenges.
Dressage (盛裝舞步賽) — It is often described as horses performing ballet. Horses and riders need to perform a routine of beautifully choreographed movements in the arena.
Eventing (三項賽) — It covers every aspect of horsemanship. Apart from the above two disciplines, riders and their horses need to overcome cross-country challenges.
