A warning sign in South Africa

【明報專訊】Eason happens to know that the Smarties are planning a trip to South Africa to see the "Big Five". What are they?

“ MoMo: Let's call our trip "Big Five in South Africa". ”

“ Pat: I can't wait to go on a safari! ”

“ Eason: Big Five? They must have counted me in! ”

“ Pat: Why are you here? Do you want to start another fight? ”

“ Eason: I don't mind making peace with you for now and becoming your tour guide. The five of us make the "Big Five", don't we? ”

“ Dr Panda: The "Big Five" refers to animals in South Africa... ”

■Culture tips

Going on safaris in South Africa is what tourists who are fascinated by wildlife (and in particular the Big Five) must do. The "Big Five" (非洲五霸) comprises the African buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard and rhino. It is highly probable to see in a safari park all the Big Five in one visit, but there is no guarantee. When they visit a safari park, tourists should always listen to the rangers' instructions so as to avoid endangering their lives and animals'.

■English highway﹕count ... in

If you count a person in, you include the person in an activity.

e.g. If you wish to count him in, you have to send him a note.

■Glossary

safari (n) (尤指於非洲)觀賞動物/狩獵旅行
