Express﹕The Jaws of death
【明報專訊】Breakthrough (《奇蹟的突破》) is the first film directed by Roxann Dawson, who is also an actress best known for playing an alien in a Star Trek drama. The film is adapted from a novel written by the protagonist in the movie, Joyce Smith. She has an adopted son John, who falls into an icy lake. If you were in her shoes, perhaps you would give up your hope. But Joyce doesn't and still clings to (信守) the idea that her son can survive. Perhaps we should all learn from her gritty (堅毅的) determination.
The production might not be as jaw-dropping (令人驚愕的) as an action movie, nor are its screenplays as jawbreaking (繞口的) as a period drama. But it is certainly a story about how we should face the jaws of death.
The film will be released on 11 April 2019.
