 «ù¥÷ªÌ¡RHomosexual rights in HK

¡i©ú³ø±M°T¡jMay 17 was International Day Against Homophobia. The same day in 1990, the World Health Organisation (¥@¬É½Ã¥Í²Õ´) removed homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Homosexuality is no longer considered a mental disorder.

Groups in Hong Kong have been calling for legislation against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation (©Ê¶É¦V). They believe people with different sexual orientations like lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual people (collectively known as LGBTs) should enjoy equal opportunities and equal rights.

Different parties have expressed different views on such anti-discrimination legislation.
