【明報專訊】The Syrian Civil War (敘利亞內戰) has created the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. The war has killed hundreds of thousands of people and forced more than 11 million from their homes. In many cases, children caught up in this crisis have lost their parents, suffered physical and psychological trauma, or fallen years behind in school.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR, 聯合國難民署), 4.8 million Syrian refugees have fled to Turkey, Lebanon (黎巴嫩), Jordan (約旦), Egypt and Iraq, and 6.6 million are internally displaced within Syria. Meanwhile, about one million have requested asylum (庇護) to Europe.
