【明報專訊】The appearance of a dish is as important as its taste. Making the food look nice and funny can definitely increase the pleasure of eating. The petite dinosaur here is too cute to eat, isn't it?

◆Ingredients

.Kiwi fruit

.Toast

.Banana

(1) Cut the banana in half. Slice the halved banana into 5 to 6 small pieces.

(2) Cut the other halved banana into two long shapes to form the head and tail of the dinosaur.

(3) Adjust the size of the toast which will be the dinosaur's body. Cut off the bread crust to be the tree trunk and the dinosaur's legs.

(4) Cut the kiwi fruit to be the grass and tree leaves.

(5) Place the food in the correct place. Add eyes and mouth of the dinosaur using chocolate chips or any other candies. DONE!

◆Quick tip

The plate is also part of the food art. In this case, the blue colour plate resembles the blue sky, making the "picture" more complete!

■Do you know?

In Japan, the packed school lunch is considered an art form. Mothers wake up early to prepare little boxes of delicious art for their children. Cartoon character bentos, also known as kyaraben, are mainly made for preschool kids to help introduce them to a wide variety of foods so they would not develop picky eating habits. (photo.A)
