【明報專訊】◆Be in somebody's good / bad books

Used to say that someone is pleased / annoyed with you.

e.g I helped doing housework this morning so I'm in mother's good books.

◆Can read somebody like a book

You know them so well that you immediately know what they are thinking or feeling.

e.g The teacher always knows when I'm lying. He can read me like a book.

◆Don't judge a book by its cover

You should not form an opinion based only on the way something looks.

e.g The restaurant may look cramped and old, but don't judge a book by its cover - the food is delicious!
