【明報專訊】Inspired by the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Avenue of Stars (AoS) along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade honours celebrities of the Hong Kong film industry. It has been closed for repair and improvement works since 2015, and is expected to reopen in early 2019.

The AoS has been one of the most popular scenic spots in Hong Kong, attracting local and overseas visitors for the handprints of local movie stars, exhibitions, local musical, dance and drama performances, etc. You can also find visitors taking photos with the statue of deceased Kung-fu film star Bruce Lee (李小龍), imitating his signature pose.

It is planned that the revitalised AoS will feature shaded areas seven times larger and over eight times more greenery than before. The statues of Bruce Lee, Anita Mui (梅艷芳), McDull and Hong Kong Film Awards will be relocated back to the AoS, and will be protected by water features instead of barriers for the convenience of photo-taking.
