Hans Christian Andersen (安徒生 , 1805-1875) was an author from Denmark. During his writing career, he wrote more than 150 fairy tales. The most famous ones include The Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, etc. Readers can learn an important lesson from each of the fairy tales.

When he was a child, he was poor and could not afford to attend school regularly. He tried to become an actor or a dancer, but he turned out to be a writer. His first fairy tale book was published at the age of thirty. Later, he became an internationally renowned author.

Today, his stories are still loved by readers from all over the world. His fairy tales have been translated into over 150 languages. The films adapted from his stories also enjoy popularity too. The films The Little Mermaid and Frozen are all based on his fairy tales.
